This crispy, flakey, and delicious tuna croissant sandwich is a trip down memory lane. Made with tuna, mayonnaise, and delicious fresh vegetables, this is a great option when you’re in a pickle.
In a small bowl, add your tuna, celery, green onions, and salt and pepper.
Using a spoon mix until thoroughly combined. Once ready, set aside.
Heat your croissant in a toaster and cook until golden brown.
Once ready, place the croissant sandwich on a serving plate.
Start assembling your sandwich beginning with the tuna, followed by the pickles, tomatoes, onions, and greens.
Place the top of the croissant to cover.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
When you’re using canned tuna, watch out for the water content! It’s important to drain the tuna completely or else the mayonnaise and spices will pool to the bottom and lose their flavor. I am not a big fan of the saltier brines of pickles, so we went with gherkins, which are more on the sweeter end. You are free to use your favorite pickle, but we recommend dill or gherkins as they have just a little more flavor and bite than others, which will enhance the dish overall. You can make the separate ingredients in advance like the tuna salad and slice the ingredients to have them ready. I would recommend not adding them together as the tuna may make the bun and the rest of the ingredients soggy.
